Postgraduate Institute of Management MBA Programme 2013-14
The Admission Committee for MBA Programme shall be responsible for conducting the Management Programme admission procedure for the academic session 2013-2014
Total Intake: 120 in include 18 NRI seats
MBA Programme:
MBA programme is a two-year full-time programme at Ahmedabad University under Postgraduate Institute of Management (PGIM), Amrut Mody School of Management (AMSoM)
The MBA programme offers an opportunity to students to opt for a concentration in various functional areas of management, like finance, marketing, human resource management and also minors in these areas as well as in Information Systems (see course curriculum at the AMSOM website: http://www.amsom.edu.in/)
Each year is divided in semester/quarters
A student is required to successfully complete a total of 75 credits
The programme also includes eight weeks of compulsory summer internship for the students, and a compulsory non-credit-year long course Individual Social Responsibility Initiative

Eligibility and Selection Process:
Eligibility: Candidates who have appeared at Common Admission Test (CAT) 2012 conducted by IIMs or Common Management Admission Test (CMAT) 2012-13 conducted by AICTE are eligible to apply
A candidate must hold a Bachelor’s Degree, or an equivalent qualification recognized by the Ministry of HRD, Government of India, with at least 50% marks (45% for SC/ST /SEBC candidates) or equivalent CGPA, of any University incorporated by an act of the central or state legislature in India or other educational institutions established by an act of Parliament or declared to be deemed as a University under section 3 of UGC Act, 1956
The Bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification obtained by the candidate must entail a minimum of three years of education after completing higher secondary schooling (10+2) or equivalent
In case of the candidates being awarded grades/CGPA instead of marks, the equivalence would be based on the equivalence certified by the university/ institution from where they have obtained bachelor’s degree
In case the university/ institution does not have any scheme for converting CGPA into equivalent marks, the equivalence would be established by the AMSoM by dividing earned CGPA with the maximum possible CGPA and multiplying the quotient with 100
A candidate appearing for the final year examination of bachelor’s degree or equivalent can also apply
Such candidate must produce a certificate from the authority of the of the university/ institution certifying that the candidate has obtained 50% marks or equivalent based on latest available grades/marks (i.e. all the years grade/marks except the final year grade/marks), and; the candidate has completed all the requirements and has appeared for the examinations/practical etc. for the final year/final term and that the results is awaited for obtaining the bachelor’s degree/ equivalent qualification
Selection Process:
The candidates who appeared in CAT-2012 or CMAT in 2012-13 and seek admission in the MBA programme at AMSoM must apply in the prescribed form, which is available at http://www.amsom.edu.in/
Candidates short listed on the basis of aggregate CAT / CMAT percentage will be required to appear for personal interview at AMSoM campus on specified date(s)
Selection Matrix:
Selection of students shall be done using the following criteria along with the weights indicated below;

Admission Process:
Candidates may apply by sending the duly filled in application form (available at the institutes website www.amsom.edu.in along with the payment of the application fee of Rs.500/-
The application fee can be paid via cash /cheque /demand draft drawn in favour of “Ahmedabad University”, payable at Ahmedabad
The last date of applying for the admission is 08th July 2013
Candidates have to bear all expenses for attending the PI
Candidates appearing for the PI are required to report at least half an hour in advance as per the schedule and register with Admission Counsellor
In case a candidate is late, the Admission Counsellor may accommodate him in next session on the same day if possible
The candidate will not be allowed any other dates except one prescribed for PI
The candidates must attach self attested copies of the following documents:
Original Mark-sheets of all the graduation years
CAT2012 scorecard or CMAT scorecard of 2012-13 (if you have taken more than one CMAT attempt then enclose the higher score, if you have taken both CMAT as well as CAT then enclose scorecards of both tests
Photo Identity Proof/Experience Certificate, if any; caste certificate (from competent authority as notified by the Government, if applied for reservation quota)
Out of the total intake, seats that remain unfilled by CAT score will be immediately allocated based on CMAT scores

Candidates are strongly recommended to access the website on regular basis for admission updates
Reservations and Seat Allocation:
There will be a reasonable relaxation in cut-off point for SC/ST/SEBC category candidates for admission in AMSoM MBA program
Payment for Securing Admission:
The candidates as per the final selected list are required to pay full fee of Rs. 49,500/- (rupees forty nine thousand five hundred only) of the first semester and confirmation the admission
Modes of Payment:
Payment by Demand Draft fees may be paid by demand draft drawn in favour of “Ahmedabad University”, payable at Ahmedabad, Gujarat

Payment of fees: by 23rd July, 2013 (Regular seats and NRI Sponsored seats)
Annual tuition fees* Rs. 89,000/- and NRI/Sponsored Seats: Rs. U$ 5000/-
